About Climate Fresk
Climate Fresk is an interactive workshop that teaches the climate system and provides tools for meaningful change.
It’s a serious game in which a team arranges 42 cards into a climate collage that illustrates where climate change comes from and the consequences it causes.
After the session, participants gain a deeper understanding of climate change, its related social and economic issues, and have a clear sense of how they can contribute to solutions.
Why is it effective?
The Climate Fresk workshop was created in France in 2018. Since then, the format has successfully spread across the globe — with over 2 million people having taken part to date.

LEARNING METHODOLOGY
It is easier to learn new things when information is presented visually, playfully, and interactively. Seeing the entire climate system before them, participants connect individual pieces of knowledge into the "big picture" and begin to understand problems systematically.

SCIENTIFIC BASIS
All the data presented on the cards is based on reports by IPCC scientists, giving participants a strong foundation of scientifically grounded knowledge.

COLLABORATION
Participants draw on collective intelligence — working as a team, sharing existing knowledge, and learning from one another.

ACCESSIBILITY
Complex terms and confusing concepts are explained in language everyone can understand. Information that spans hundreds of pages in scientific reports is absorbed in just a few hours.
Workshop structure
01
CLIMATE SYSTEM
The first part of the workshop is an interactive card game. Working in teams, participants are tasked with arranging the cards in cause-and-effect order, revealing how human activity impacts the global climate.
02
REFLECTION
Hearing the story of the climate crisis can be emotionally challenging, which is why in the second part of the workshop we take time to sit together and share how the information has affected us. This stage helps process feelings of despair and move towards positive, meaningful action.
03
ACTIONS
In the final part of the workshop, we work together and think strategically — aiming to identify individual and team actions that can have a significant impact on the climate. We can adapt the session to your business or sector to find concrete, relevant actions that can be implemented within your organisation.
